3 - Woodfired porcelain spoon rest
This spoon rest was made by me in my studio in North Lincolnshire. It is thrown in porcelain and was fired in our woodfired manabigama in Sherwood Forest. It has a blue/green glaze on the surface the spoon will rest on an unglazed porcelain on the exterior. The atmosphere in the kiln creates a light glaze and blushing on the unglazed porcelain and no two pieces are the same. See photos to see marks left on the pot from the flame path arpund wadding that the pots rest on in the kiln.
My functional stoneware pieces are all dishwasher safe.
Approximate measurements of my spoon rests: diameter 12cm All sizes are taken at widest points and size varies from pot to pot.
